Turn the key briefly to position
START and release : An automatic
procedure operates the starter with
a short delay until the engine is
running.
Before restarting or to switch off the
engine, turn the key back to
position LOCK.
Note

Do not press the accelerator
pedal while starting the engine.

Do not subject the engine to full
throttle acceleration or high
speeds until it has reached
normal operating temperature.
Premature engine wear or
damage may result.
Vehicles with electronic key
system
Apply the park brake firmly.
Move the shift lever to the park or
neutral position. Press the brake
pedal
Do not operate accelerator pedal.
Press and release Engine Start/Stop
button : an automatic procedure
operates the starter with a short
delay until the engine is running,
see Automatic Starter Control.
Before restarting or to switch off the
engine, press Engine Start/Stop
button once more.

Starting the vehicle with a low
transmitter battery
If either the electronic key fails or
the battery of the electronic key is
weak, the Driver Information Centre
may display “No remote detected”
when you try to start the vehicle.
