In the front seats, stress on the
body is reduced by the gradual
release of the belt during a collision.
Belt tensioners
In the event of a front, side or rear
collision of a certain severity, the
driver ’s and/or passengers’ seat
belts are tightened.

Incorrect handling (e.g. removal
or fitting of belts or belt buckles)
can trigger the belt tensioners,
causing a risk of injury.
When the belt tensioners have been
deployed,
9 illuminates on the

Triggered belt tensioners must be
replaced.
Belt tensioners are only
triggered once.

Fitting
The belt should not be twisted.
It should lie flat and fit firmly across
your hips.
