124 Driving and Operating
Place the electronic key in the
centre console transmitter pocket.
Press the brake pedal and press the
Engine Start/Stop button.
To switch off the engine, press the
Engine Start/Stop button again.
Remove the electronic key from the
transmitter pocket.
This option is intended for
emergencies only. Replace the
electronic key battery as soon as
possible. Remote Control 0 18
For unlocking or locking the doors
see fault in remote control unit or
electronic key system. Remote
Control 0 18.
Retained Accessory
Power (RAP)
Retained power off
The following electrical systems
operate for 10 minutes after the
ignition is switched off:
.
power windows
.
power outlets
.
Infotainment system
The infotainment system can be
turned back on.
Once the driver’s door is opened
after the ignition is switched off:
.
the power windows operate for
approximately 45 seconds, and
.
the infotainment system will turn
off but can be turned back on.
Parking
1. Apply the park brake.
2. Automatic transmission: Select
position P.
Manual transmission : If facing
uphill or on flat ground, select
1st gear. If facing downhill,
select reverse gear.
On an uphill gradient turn the
front wheels away from
the kerb.
On a downhill gradient turn the
front wheels towards the kerb.
3. Shut all windows.
4. Turn the ignition off and
remove the key.
5. Press
Q on the key to lock all
doors. Central Locking
System 0 20.

Always apply parking brake.
Apply the parking brake
without pressing release
button. Apply as firmly as
possible on downhill or
uphill slopes. Press the foot
brake at the same time to
reduce operating force.
