60 Instruments and Controls
If the $ warning light does not
extinguish or illuminates while
driving and the park brake is
released, there is a problem with the
brakes:
.
Stop the vehicle as soon as it is
safe to do so.

Check the brake fluid level.
Brake Fluid 0 155, Parking
Brake 0 133.
.
Do not proceed until satisfied
that braking is possible or that
the cause of the problem has
been repaired.

If necessary contact a Holden
Dealer.

Warning
Do not drive while the brake
system warning light is on.
Antilock Brake System
(ABS) Warning Light
The ! warning light illuminates for
a short time when the ignition is
turned on to show that the light is
working.
If the
! warning light illuminates,
there is a problem in the ABS.
Note
The vehicle’s brake system remains
operational but without ABS
assistance. Antilock Brake System
(ABS) 0 132.
Contact a Holden Dealer.
Operate Pedal Light

illuminates or flashes yellow.
Operate the clutch pedal (manual)
or brake pedal (auto) to start the
engine.
Upshift light

illuminates to indicate when to
shift to the next higher gear for best
fuel economy.
Variable Effort Steering
Light
The vehicle has electric power
steering.
The
m warning light illuminates for
a short time when the ignition is
turned on to show that the light is
working.
If the
m warning light does not
extinguish after a few seconds, or if
it illuminates while driving, there is a
fault in the power steering.

Ultrasonic Parking
Sensor Light
X
illuminates for a short time
when the ignition is turned on to
show that the light is working.
If the light does not extinguish or if it
illuminates when reverse gear is
selected:

The sensors may be dirty
.
The sensors may be covered by
ice or snow
