Information
Catalytic Converter
Catalytic Converter
This motorcycle is equipped with a three-way
catalytic converter. The catalytic converter
contains precious metals that serve as catalysts
in high temperature chemical reactions that
convert hydrocarbons (HC), carbon monoxide
(CO), and oxides of nitrogen (NOx) in the
exhaust gasses into safe compounds.
A defective catalytic converter contributes to
air pollution and can impair your engine’s
performance. A replacement unit must be an
original Honda part or equivalent.
Follow these guidelines to protect your
motorcycle’s catalytic converter.
Always use unleaded petrol. Leaded petrol
will damage the catalytic converter.
Keep the engine in good running condition.
Have your motorcycle serviced if your engine
is misfiring, backfiring, stalling, or otherwise
not running properly, stop riding and turn
off the engine.
