4.7.1 mV Remote Sensor Mounting
The millivolt (mV) sensor can be mounted remotely from the XNX transmitter.
The distance between the transmitter and the remote sensor must comply with
the table below which identifies the proper wire gauges and distances to ensure
proper operation.

* The fre quenc y of zero calibrations may increase due to the changes in wire resistance caused by

To remotely mount the sensor, follow this procedure:
1. Installajunctionboxinthedesiredlocation.Allowsufcientroom
forinstallationandcalibrationofthesensor.(MPDsensorsmustbe
installedwiththesinterpointingdown.)
2. Loosentheretainerlockingscrewonthetransmitterwiththe
suppliedhexkey.
3. Unscrewthetransmitter’sweatherproofcover.
4. Runconduitorcablefromoneofthetransmitter’savailableconduit
entriestothelocationoftheremotejunctionboxinaccordance
withlocalrequirements.ULandCSArequireaconduitpourtting
within45cm(18in.)ofeachenclosure.
5. Mounttheremotesensorjunctionbox.Allowenoughroombelowit
totthesensorandtheweatherproofcover.
6. Attachtheconduitorcabletotheremotejunctionbox.Thejunction
boxprovidesamountingbaseforthesensorandcontainsthe
associatedelectroniccircuit.
