5.7.2 DC PSU
Removing a DC PSU
Step 1 Wear an ESD wrist strap. For details, see 5.2 ESD Protection.
Step 2 Determine the rack number and chassis number of the server to be removed, and
label its panel to prevent misoperations.
Step 3 (Optional) Power
o the server. For details, see 5.4.2 Powering O the Server.
● When the server is fully congured with PSUs, if the other PSU is working
properly and the rated power is greater than or equal to the rated power of the
server, you can directly remove the PSU without powering
o the server.
Removing all power cables without powering o the server may damage user
programs or unsaved data
● When only one PSU is
congured, removing the power cable without powering
o the server may damage user programs or unsaved data.
Step 4 Remove the cables from the PSUs.
1. Turn
o the circuit breaker for the DC PSUs.
2. Hold down the latches above the power cables to be removed using a at-
head screwdriver, and remove the power cables. See (1) and (2) in Figure
5-27.
3. Loosen and remove the screw from the ground hole using a Phillips
screwdriver, and remove the ground cable from the screw. See (3) in Figure
5-27.

Step 5 Press the latch on the PSU in the arrow direction, and pull the PSU out of the slot
by holding its handle.
