11.5 Adjusting the rebound damping of the shock absorber
Caution
Risk of injury Parts of the shock absorber will move around if the shock absorber is detached incor-
rectly.
The shock absorber is filled with highly compressed nitrogen.

Turn adjusting screw

clockwise up to the last perceptible
click.
– Turn counterclockwise by the number of clicks correspond-
ing to the shock absorber type.

Rebound damping
Comfort 17 clicks
Standard 15 clicks
Sport 13 clicks

Turn clockwise to increase the damping; turn
counterclockwise to reduce damping when the shock
absorber rebounds.

– Raise the motorcycle with a lift stand. ( p. 54)

– Position the sag gage in the rear axle and measure the
distance to marking SAG on the rear fender.
