Finishing work
– Install front fender. ( p. 63)
– Install the front wheel. ( p. 100)
– Install the headlight mask with the headlight. ( p. 112)
– Check that the wiring harness, throttle cables, and brake and
clutch lines can move freely and are routed correctly.
– Check the steering head bearing for play. ( p. 60)
– Remove the motorcycle from the lift stand. ( p. 54)
– Check the headlight setting. ( p. 114)
12.11 Checking the steering head bearing play
Warning
Danger of accidents Incorrect steering head bearing play impairs the handling characteristic and

Info
If the vehicle is operated for a lengthy period with play in the steering head bearing, the bearings and the
bearing seats in the frame can become damaged over time.
Preparatory work
– Raise the motorcycle with a lift stand. ( p. 54)
