7. (Optional) Install an expansion-slot screw at the rear of the adapter.
8. If you are installing a full-length adapter, press on the release lever on the right
side of the front adapter-retention bracket to release the retaining tab on the
left side of the bracket.
9. Connect required cables to the adapter. Route cables so that they do not block
the flow of air from the fans.
10. Close the rear retention bracket.
11. Install and lock the side cover (see “Installing the side cover” on page 146).
12. Reconnect the external cables and power cords; then, turn on the attached
devices and turn on the server.
