You can specify the monitor type according to the TV
that is connected.
Select “MONITOR TYPE” using [J / K]
then press [ENTER].
• Select the display method suitable for your TV.
When connected to a 16:9 widescreen television.
When connected to a 4:3 aspect television.
You can configure the video output when connected
to a component terminal.
Select “COMPONENT OUTPUT” using
[J / K] then press [ENTER].
• Even if you select “720P” or “1080I”, images are
output in 576p when you play a DVD VIDEO disc.
You can perform various settings when connected to
the HDMI terminal.
Select “HDMI SETTING” using [J / K]
then press [ENTER].
NOTE
Depending on the conditions (monitor type 16:9,
resolution 720p and above, aspect 4:3), some of the
OSD display of the component output may be cut off.
In this case, set “HDMI VIDEO MODE” to “OFF”.
OSD of the composite output may be cut off with the
above conditions even when OFF is selected. In this
case, set the component resolution to 576p or below,
or set the monitor type to other settings except 16:9.

16:9:
Use this setting when
displaying normal video
signals on a wide-screen TV.
(Images will be displayed in
16:9 format by adding black

16:9FULL:
For an ordinary wide TV.
(Image will be displayed in
16:9 format by enlarging 4:3

4:3 PAN&SCAN:
For a TV with conventional
4:3 aspect ratio.

format by dipping both sides
of 16:9 format.)
4:3 LETTERBOX:
For a TV with conventional
4:3 aspect ratio.

format by adding black
panels to 16:9 format.)
