LONGER-DISTANCE DRIVING
If the machine is driven over long routes at a high speed and
without having adapted the tire pressure, the tires will become
very hot. This leads to premature wear and tear of the tires
which should be avoided if possible. Adhere to the following in-
structions if you must drive the machine over a long distance:
• Perform all pre-start checks before starting to drive (see
chapter "Preparing the Machine Start").
• Fix supplementary hand tools before starting to drive.
• The required tire pressure, the driving speed or the tire type
may vary depending on the condition or structure of the road
o be used. Contact the responsible Komatsu trader or the
tire dealer to obtain the required information.
• The required tire pressure can be found in the tires and tire
pressure table in chapter "Maintenance Basics".
• Check the tire pressure before driving with the tires being
cold.
• Lower the work unit to its transport position and move it
completely to its rear limit stop position.
• Always drive with empty bucket or empty forklift truck attach-
ment.
• Adhere to the valid motor vehicle traffic regulations and drive
very careful. Make sure that the working lights and the warn-
ing beacon are turned off while driving on public roads.
• Make a break of 30 minutes after driving for one hour. Check
the tires and all particularly strained parts during driving on
public roads whether they are still fully functioning or dam-
aged.
