MAINTENANCE PRIOR TO START

ENGINE, DRAINING OFF OIL
If you have topped off to much oil, you must drain off the excess
oil. Have an oil trough with a sufficient capacity ready.
1. Before you start maintenance work, park and secure the
machine as described in the chapter "Preparing the Ma-
chine for Maintenance".
2. Loosen the screw (1) at the bottom cover plate (2) and swiv-
el the cover plate to the side.
3. Put the oil through under the drain screw (4).
4. Remove the cover cap (3) from the drain valve.
5. Screw on the drain hose (5) on the drain valve (4). This will
cause the draine valve to open.
6. Drain the oil.
7. Check the removed oil for metal parts or undesired material.
If the oil contains such particles, inform the responsible Ko-
matsu dealer.
8. Remove the cover cap (3) from the drain valve.
9. Remove the drain hose (5) from the drain valve (4). This will
cause the drain valve to close.
10. Fasten the bottom cover plate with the screw.
