Risk of accident and injury
Always have maintenance work carried out at a qualified specialist workshop which has the necessary specialist knowledge and tools to carry out
the work required.
Mercedes-Benz recommends that you use a Mercedes-Benz Service Centre for this purpose.
In particular, work relevant to safety or on safety-related systems must be carried out at a qualified specialist workshop. There is a risk of an acci-
dent and injury if this work is carried out incorrectly.
Problem Possible cause/consequence Suggested solutions
Only the red segments in the
Parktronic (PTS) warning dis-
plays are lit.
A warning tone also sounds for
approximately 2 seconds.
PTS switches off after approxi-
mately 20 seconds.
The indicator lamp on the PTS
switch comes on and the red
segments in the warning display
go out.
PTS has malfunctioned and has
switched off.
When you press the PTS switch,
the red segments in the PTS
warning displays light up again
and the warning tone sounds
for approximately 2 seconds.
E Have PTS checked as soon as possible at a qualified specialist
workshop.
The Parktronic (PTS) warning
displays indicate implausible
distances.
For example, all the segments
may be lit even though there is
no obstacle present.
The PTS sensors are dirty or
iced up.
E Clean PTS sensors (e page 245).
E Turn the key to position 2 in the ignition lock.
