Risk of accident and injury
Always have maintenance work carried out at a qualified specialist workshop which has the necessary specialist knowledge and tools to carry out
the work required.
Mercedes-Benz recommends that you use a Mercedes-Benz Service Centre for this purpose.
In particular, work relevant to safety or on safety-related systems must be carried out at a qualified specialist workshop. There is a risk of an acci-
dent and injury if this work is carried out incorrectly.
Problem Possible cause/consequence Suggested solutions
On vehicles with a diesel en-
gine: the fuel tank has been run
dry.
There is air in the fuel system.
E Bleed the fuel system (e page 314).
Fuel is leaking from the vehicle.

Risk of explosion
The fuel line or the fuel tank is
defective.
Leaking fuel creates a risk of
fire or explosion.
E Switch off the ignition immediately.
E Remove the key from the ignition lock.
E Do not start the engine under any circumstances.
E Consult a qualified specialist workshop.
