5. After the engine of the vehicle with the dead bat-
tery has been started, disconnect the booster
cables by reversing the order of connection.
When the vehicle runs out of fuel and the engine
stalls, when the fuel filter element has been
replaced, or when the water in the fuel filter has
drained, air that has entered the fuel system pre-
vents the engine from being started even after the
engine is refueled.
In these cases, bleed the fuel system by performing
the following steps.
CAUTION
The fuel injection system may fail if the engine
stops due to lack of fuel.
The fuel filter is either at the front or rear of the
fuel tank, which is located on the left-hand side of
the vehicle.

WARNING
A fire could result if there is a fuel leak or if
spilt fuel is not removed. Always wipe off
spilt fuel after air bleeding. Also be sure to
check for fuel leakage.
