Step 3 - Plan suitable mounting angle
The Drive unit MUST be mounted at an angle of no more than 35° from vertical, to
ensure adequate drainage of water for all rotating parts. You MUST also ensure that
the drain hole at the base of the unit is kept clear at all times.
Step 4– Prepare to fit torque restraint
1. If the steering wheel shaft is 1 inch diameter, proceed from step 2 below. If the
shaft is

inch diameter, slide the taper adaptor (supplied) fully onto the steering
wheel shaft taper, with the keyways are aligned.
2. Temporarily place the SPX-5R Drive onto the steering shaft, with the torque
restraint at the lowermost point.
