90 Section 2C: Setting Your Phones Security
Resetting Your Phone
Resetting the phone restores all the factory defaults,
including the ringer types and display settings. The Contacts,
Call History, Calendar, and Messaging are not affected.
To reset your phone:
1. From the Security Menu, select Reset Phone ().
2. Press OK (left softkey) to continue.
3. If you are certain that you would like to restore all of
the factory settings, select Yes.
Resetting and Locking Your Phone
Through SMS
When your phone is lost or stolen, you can erase your
important personal information (such as Contacts entries,
call history, and messages) and lock your phone by sending
a special formatted SMS message to your phone.
From your computer, sign on to
www.sprintpcs.com and send
a message to your phone (input your 10-digit Sprint PCS
Phone Number) in the following format:
\ \ RESET **<Passcode>** RESET
<Passcode> your defined passcode.
The default passcode is your phones 11-digit
ESN (Electronic Serial Number), which is
written on the package or on the phone itself.
The locked phone will display the following message:
If found, please call Sprint Customer Service 1-888-211-4727.
Note: To send a message from mailer software, input your 10-digit
Sprint PCS Phone Number followed by “@messaging.sprintpcs.com.”
