Information on insulation tests, protection class and degree of
protection
Insulation test
The insulation strength is demonstrated in the type test with the following test voltages in
accordance with IEC 61131-2:
Insulation tested with (type test)

707 V DC to other circuits / to ground
Ethernet connector 1500 V AC
Degree of pollution and overvoltage category
The device meets the following requirements according to IEC 61131-2:2007:
Degree of pollution 2 (front)
1 (rear)
Protection class III according to IEC 61131-2
Protection against foreign objects and water
The device meets the requirements according to EN 60529.
Front When mounted:
• IP65
• Type 4X/Type 12 (indoor use only)
Rear panel IP20
Protection against contact with standard test probes. There is no
protection against the ingress of water, dust and noxious gas.
The front protection rating can only be guaranteed if the mounting seal lies flush against the
mounting cutout. Read the corresponding information in section
"Preparing the mounting cutout (Page 38)".
