If the lower looper thread is visible on the reverse side of the material, then
– set the dial for the lower looper thread tension (yellow) to a higher
value or
– set the dial for the upper looper thread tension (orange) to a lower
value.
If the tension of the left needle is too loose, then
– set the dial for the left needle thread tension (blue) to a higher value.
If the tension of the right needle is too loose, then
– set the dial for the right needle thread tension (green) to a higher
value.

Sewing rolled hems
Your machine will sew four different styles of rolled hems.
When sewing rolled hems, the edge of the work piece is turned over and
covered with an overlock seam.
Lightweight fabrics such as cambric, chiffon, organza, etc. are best
suited.
Rolled hems are not suitable for heavy or stiff fabrics.
Preparing the machine
Remove the left needle.
Set the seam width finger switch to R.
Align the left side of the support plate for
the seam width finger to the R marking on
the throat plate by turning the seam width
button.
Set the stitch length dial to „F-2“ so the
machine will sew a fine seam.
Needle: SINGER cat. no. 2022 size
80/11 or 90/14.
Thread: a variety of thread combinations
can be used for rolled hems.
Note: using a bulky nylon thread as the
right looper thread and regular overlock
thread for the needle thread will create a beautiful 2-thread rolled hem

Correct tension setting
Set each tension dial to the following setting and sew a sample seam
using a fabric scrap.
