Troubleshooting
If you run into any problems using your camcorder, use tile %llowing table to troubleshoot tile
problem. If tile problem persists, remove tile power source and contact your Sony defiler.

Note before sending your camcorder for repair
• Your camcorder may be needed to initialize or change the currcnl hard disk of the camcorder, depending
onthe problem.In the eventoi this, thedat_lstored onthe hm'ddisk will be deleted.Be sure to S_lVe(backup)
the data on the hard disk (p.42) on the other media before svnding your camcorder to repair. _;¥k:cannot
guaranlee any loss ot your hard disk data.
• When repairing the cmncorder, we may check a nlinimum aniount of data stored on the haM dik in order
to imprme the condition. Howe_er, Sony dealer will neither copy nor sa_e your data.
The camcorder does not operate even when the power is set to on.
• Remove tilL'AC Adaptor frolIl thewall outlet or remove tilL'battery pack, then reconnect it aflcr
about one minute. If the functions still do not work>press the RESET button (p.37) cising a
sharp-pointed object. (lfyou press the RESET button, all settings are reset, except the Personal
Menu items.)
• The temperature of your camcorder is extremely high. Turn off your camcorder and leave it
for a while in a cool place.
• The temperature of your camcorder is extremely low. Move itto a warm place and mrn on the
po_er after a little _hile.
Buttons do not work.
• During Easy Handycam operation, tile avaihlble buttons are limited. Cancel Easy Handycam
operation (p.27).
You cannot turn Easy Handycam operation on or off.
• You cannottllrn Easy Handycam operationon or off x_hih:recordingor communicathlg with
another device via USB cable.
Settings change during Easy Handycam operation.
• St)me of the settings of your camcordcr arc restored to tile default setting x@en you set Easy
Handycan/operation (p.24). The settings return to the ones belbre Easy Handycanl operation
when you cancel Easy Handycan/operation (p.27).
[DEMO MODE] does not start.
• You cannot view the demonstration _xbcnthe NIGHTSHOT sx_itch is set to ON. Set the
NIGHTSHOT switch to OFF (p.341.
• Set the POWER switch to _1 (Movie).
A vibration is felt in your hand or a faint sound is heard during operation.
• This is not amalfunction.
