Recording
When [ SIMULTANEOUS REC] is [ON], movies are recorded on both media, irrespective of the
[MEDIA SELECT] setting.
To record movies only on the memory card or the flash memory unit
1 Press MENU t select (REC/OUT SET) t [REC SET] t [ SIMULTANEOUS REC]
t [
OFF] with the SEL/PUSH EXEC dial.
2 Select (REC/OUT SET) t [MEDIA SELECT] t [MEMORY CARD] or [FMU] (flash
memory unit).
z Tips
A message appears if an access error occurred while the camcorder was accessing the recording media.
1 Press the MODE button to turn on the (Photo) lamp.
2 Press the PHOTO button lightly to adjust the focus, then press it fully.
Focus indicator when autofocusing
The focus indicator shows the focusing status by lighting/flashing.
z lit : Focus locked.
z flashing: The camcorder cannot focus on the subject automatically. Either recompose the
shot or change the focus setting.
z Tips
You cannot record still images while (Movie) lamp is lit.
See page 120 on the expected number of recordable photos.
This camcorder uses a rolling shutter for still image recording, which can result in subject distortion,
flicker, or change the contrast when using the flash, depending on the shooting conditions.
