7.2.1. Horizontal Type Layout
(1) This layout places the TUP500 and the optional large diameter roll paper holder (RHU-T500) in
a horizontal manner.
(2) To use the optional large diameter roll paper holder unit (RHU-500) in a horizontal layout,
purchase the optional damper roller B unit (DRU-T500B). Remove the damper roller A unit
from the printer and mount the optional damper roller B unit.
(3) Fig. 7.2.1.A and Fig. 7.2.1.B. show the recommended layout dimensions.
(4) By setting up the printer with this layout, the maximum roll paper value of Ø254 mm is
supported.
Notes:
1. Be careful when laying out the cables so that wires are not broken.
Also, if necessary, use a protective tube or a wire-bundling band to protect the cable.
2. There are cases in which, depending on the paper quality and type of paper core, the
maximum diameter Ø254 roll paper cannot be transported by the printer unit.
Determine your final layout by actually trying to transport the type of paper you intend to
use.
3. To use the maximum diameter Ø254 roll paper, strictly observe the recommended layout.
4. To use a different layout that the one recommended, contact Star Micronics.
7.2.2. Vertical Type Layout
(1) This layout places the TUP500 and the optional large diameter roll paper holder (RHU-T500) in
a vertical manner.
(2) Fig. 7.2.2.A and Fig. 7.2.2.B. show the recommended layout dimensions.
(3) To use the optional large diameter roll paper holder unit (RHU-500) in a vertical layout,
purchase the optional damper roller B unit (DRU-T500B). Remove the damper roller A unit
from the printer and mount the optional damper roller B unit (DRU-T500B).
(4) By setting up the printer with this layout, the maximum roll paper value of Ø254 mm is
supported.
