11.2. Description of Units
(1) CPU
Controls everything according to the program written to the ash ROM.
Use a Renesas R5F61656CN35FTV (operaton drive frequency 32 MHz) for the CPU and operate at a clock speed of
16MHz.
(2) Gate Array
Use uPD65943GC-F36-YEB-A for the gate array to mainly send and receive interface signals and to convert mechanism
drive control signals into drive signals.
(3) Flash ROM
One ROM that has fonts (single/double byte) and data (logos etc.) and settings is mounted. Use 16 M (mega) bits
for the ROM.
(4) SRAM
Used in the CPU stack area, work area and data buffer.
Use two 2-M (mega) bits for the SRAM.
(5) EEPROM
Used to save a variety of information such as the maintenance counter.
(6) Drive Circuit
Converts control signals from the CPU and gate array to drive signals to drive the printer
mechanism.
(7) Operation Board
Composed of switches and LED on the external operating board, this is used for xed operations and display of
information.
(8) Interface Card
This communicates data between the host computer and the printer.
(9) Sub-board
Comprises a power switch and fuse (3.15 A/250 V rated).
(10) Power Unit
Prepare a separate power unit because it does not have a power circuit. This board requires
supply the supply of power.
Supply power: DC +24 V, GND
(11) Printer Mechanism
The printer mechanism is composed of a print head, paper feed motor, detectors, a presenter and paper feed unit.
(12) External Device
Preparation is not particularly prescribed, but I/O (open drain) for general use and an I/O are
available on the control board.
