2- 12 PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
OIL FILTER REPLACEMENT
•
Drain the engine oil as described in the engine oil replace-
ment procedure.
• Remove the oil filter cap CD and oil filter @.
• R
ep lace the oil filter with a new one.
NOTE:
Before replaCing me oil filler cap, maKe sure that the sprtng Q)
and a n ew O-ring @ are installed correctly
• Make su re that the O-ring ® behind the filter is in the correct
position.
• Replace the oil filter cap and tighten the nut securely.
• Add new enqine oil and check the oil level as described in the
engine
oil replacement procedure.

WhAn rp~ssembling the oil filter , m ak e s.ure that the oil
filter is installed as shown above. If the filter is installed
i mproperly , seri ous engine damage may result.
ENGINE OIL HOSES
Inspect initially at 1 000 km (600 miles , 1 month) and
every 6
000 km (4 000 miles, 6 months) thereafter.
Inspect the engine oi l hoses for damage and oil leakage. If any
damages are found, replace the engine
oil hoses with new ones.
