4.2.5 General safety notes
DANGER!
Danger from battery gases.
Death or severe physical injuries may result.
Comply with all safety information regarding batteries in the instructions of
the relevant battery manufacturer.
Do not use the Cruise system if the batteries are damaged; inform Torqeedo
Service.
DANGER!
Danger of fire and burns from overheating or from hot component
surfaces!
Fire and hot surfaces can result in death or severe physical injuries.
Do not store flammable objects near the battery.
Use only charging cables which are suitable for outdoor use.
Always unroll the cables completely.
If the Cruise system overheats or you see smoke, switch the system off
immediately at the main switch.
During or immediately after a trip, do not touch any of the motor or battery
components.
Prevent strong mechanical forces from working on the batteries and cables
of the Cruise system.
DANGER!
Danger to life if the Emergency Stop is not triggered!
Death or severe physical injuries may result.
Attach the cord on the Emergency Stop magnetic chip to the skipper's wrist
or to his life jacket.
DANGER!
Danger to life from the motor breaking away from the transom or motor
holder.
Death or severe physical injuries may result.
Fix the Cruise system using M12 screws exclusively.
The toggle screws are used as mounting aids. Therefore always use the
M12 screws to fix the Cruise system during operation.
WARNING!
Danger of injury from electric shock.
Contact with uninsulated or damaged parts can result in moderate or
severe physical injuries.
Do not undertake any repair work whatsoever on the Cruise system yourself.
Never touch scuffed or severed wiring or obviously defective components.
If you detect a fault, switch off the Cruise system immediately at the main
switch, and do not touch any metal components.
Avoid contact with electrical components in water.
Prevent strong mechanical forces from working on the batteries and cables
of the Cruise system.
During installation and dismantling work, always switch the Cruise system off
at the main switch.
