Freshwater system
Coolant level check
The coolant level should be about fi ve centimetres
(2”) below the pressure cap sealing plane in the ex-
pansion tank.
NOTE! There is a low coolant level alarm installed as
standard, but make sure to check the coolant level
anyway every once in a while.
If a separate expansion tank is installed, the coolant
level must be between the MAX and MIN markings.

Topping up
IMPORTANT! When topping up, use the same
coolant mixture as is already in the cooling sys-
tem.
Fill the freshwater system with coolant to the correct
level through the fi ller opening in the expansion tank,
for correct level, refer to section “coolant level check”.
Fill slowly so that evacuated air is able to pass the fi l-
ler opening.
NOTE! For coolant specifi cation refer to sec-
tion “technical data coolant”.
Filling when the system is empty
1. Make sure that systems connected to the cooling
system are ventilated, e.g. heater, water heater.
3. Fill the system with coolant through the fi ller ope-
ning in the expansion tank. Fill slowly allowing air
to bleed from the fi ller opening. For correct level,
refer to section “coolant level check”.
5. Start the engine and let it idle for about 1 hour.
IMPORTANT! The engine must not be ope-
rated under full load before the system has been
bled and topped up.
5. Check air vents for leakage.
6. Stop the engine and allow it to cool. Check the
coolant level and top up if needed.
