5 After pressing SHIFT or when the self- test starts, the
meter performs a self- test to check if the battery in the
meter is the rechargeable type. The self- test takes about
2 to 3 minutes. Avoid pressing any button during the
self- test. A message is diplayed as shown in Figure 5- 3.
