CHECKING TRANSMISSION FLUID
LEVEL
DO NOT DISPOSE OF OIL IN THE
ENVIRONMENT.
Carefully read page 40
(MAINTENANCE).
u Ride for a few kilometres until engine
reaches the operating temperature, then
stop the engine.
u Position the vehicle on the centre stand.
u Unscrew and extract the plug/dipstick
(1).
u Clean the part in contact with the oil with
a clean cloth.
u Tighten the plug/dipstick (1) completely,
screwing it into the filling hole (2).
u Withdraw the plug/dipstick again and
read the oil level on the dipstick itself:
u The level is correct if the oil reaches
approx. the dot mark on the dipstick.
u If necessary, provide for topping up.
CAUTION
Tighten filler plugs (1) and drain plugs
(3) properly; make sure that any oil is
not coming out.
Periodically check for leaks at the
casing cover gasket.
Do not use the vehicle with insufficient
lubrication or with contaminated or
impure lubricants, since this would
cause early wear of the moving parts
and may also cause irreparable failures.
Have inspection and replacement
carried out by an aprilia Authorised
Dealer.
TRANSMISSION FLUID

Have the transmission fluid changed after
the first 500 km (312 mi) and then every
12000 km (7500 mi) or every 2 years.

Have the transmission fluid changed after
the first 1000 km (625 mi) and then every
8000 km (5000 mi) or every 2 years.
Have inspection and replacement carried
out by an aprilia Authorised Dealer.
