u Remove the inspection cover, see
page 53 (REMOVING FRONT
INSPECTION COVER).
u Loosen and remove the two screws (1)
securing the silencer to the engine.
Driving torque of screws (1):
25 Nm (2.5 kgm).
u Unscrew and remove the two nuts (2).
Driving torque of nuts (2):
12 Nm (1.2 kgm).
u Remove the exhaust silencer (3).
NOTE When reassembling, replace the
gasket between exhaust manifold and
silencer with a new one.
REMOVING
THE FOOTBOARD
Carefully read page 40
(MAINTENANCE).
u Remove the inspection cover, see
page 53 (REMOVING FRONT
INSPECTION COVER).
u H Unscrew and remove the two screws
(1).
u H Loosen and remove the three screws
(2) under the footboard.
CAUTION
Proceed with care.
Do not damage the tabs and/or their
seats.
u Lift slightly the rear part of the footboard
(3) and remove it from inner shield base.
CAUTION
Do not force the lower shield as it is
connected to the frame only by two
front screws.
NOTE When reassembling fit the two
central tabs first and then the side ones.
When inserting the three screws (2)
visually check the alignment between
footrest hole and screw seat.
