STARTING
WARNING
Exhaust gases contain carbon
monoxide, which is extremely toxic if
inhaled.
Do not start the engine in an enclosed
space or poorly ventilated area.
Failure to observe this warning may
lead to loss of consciousness or even
death by asphyxia.
Do not get on the vehicle for starting it.
ELECTRIC STARTING
u Place the vehicle on the centre stand on
firm and level ground.
u Make sure that the dimmer switch (2) is
in position “
”.
u Set the ignition switch (3) to position “”.
u Lock at least one wheel, by pulling a
brake lever (4).
If this operation is not carried out, the
start relay receives no current and
therefore the starter does not run.
NOTE After a long period of inactivity,
carry out the operations described at
page 34 (STARTING AFTER A LONG
PERIOD OF INACTIVITY).
NOTE Do not hold down the starter
button “
” for more than five seconds or
the battery could run down. If the engine
does not start in this lapse of time, wait ten
seconds and press the starter button “
again.

Press the starter button "" (1) without
accelerating and release it as soon as the
engine starts.

Press the starter button (1), open the
throttle grip of 1/8 (see picture) and release
it as soon as the engine is started.
