Vector Cutting Grid/Vacuum Table
The Vector Grid is the ideal tool for vector cutting. The Vector Grid reduces
backside burning by lifting the material off the table and supporting it on an
aluminum grid.
A precise cut and crisp edges are achieved when the laser beam passes cleanly
through the material into the air space created below. The Vector Grid is design so
that the exhaust air from your exhaust fan pulls from the bottom of the table as well
as the top side of the table. This prevents buildup of smoke and vapor, which are
drawn directly into the exhaust outlet. In addition to providing better edge quality, the
vector table keeps your laser clean by trapping the resins and debris associated with
cutting materials such as wood or acrylic.
Because the Vector Grid pulls air from below the work surface it can also be used as
a vacuum hold-down table. The exhaust fan pulls enough air to create a vacuum that
it will flatten slightly warped sheet stock, paper, this wood, aluminum sheet stock and
other materials.
As long as the exhaust is operating, and your material is no more than an about ½
inch (12.7 mm) thick, the vacuum table will work. If you have a piece of sheet stock
that does not flatten out because it is not covering enough of the grid, you can use any
material (including paper) to cover the exposed holes. Simply blocking most of the
grid holes will be enough to flatten most sheet stock. The vacuum table is designed
to flatten material that is flexible and slightly warped. It will not flatten severely
warped, bent or material that is too rigid.
