Processing and Common Operations
Priming
The following procedure forces air out of the hydraulic system back into the
hydraulic fluid reservoir.
1 If the priming cushion and priming disk are not installed, do the following,
otherwise proceed to step
2.
a Open the centrifuge cover interlock latch (if applicable), open the sliding
covers, and remove the centrifuge bowl cover and alignment blocks.
b Place the priming cushion and priming disk in the centrifuge bowl.
Ensure the priming disk is on top of the cushion (
Figure 6-22).
c Replace the alignment blocks and the centrifuge bowl cover.
d Close the sliding covers and the centrifuge cover interlock latch (if
applicable). Verify that the READY light is illuminated.

2 Set the operator control panel and the secondary control panel to the following
settings:
• CENTRIFUGE SPEED = 3000 rpm
• SUPER OUT RATE = 450 mL/min
• SUPER OUT VOLUME = 600 mL
• AUTO/MANUAL = AUTO or MANUAL
• PUMP RESTORE RATE = (adjust to maximum setting)
3 Press the START SPIN button and allow the centrifuge to spin for 20 seconds.
