IGNITION TIMING
NOTE
The C.D.1. timing is not adjustable. If the igni-
tion liming is correct. check the C.D.I. unit ilnd
alternator and replace any faulty parts,
Remove the battery and banery holder.
Connect the battery positive (+1 cable to the battery
(+1 terminal wilh iii jumper wire. Cannect the banery
negative I-I cable 10 the battef" I-I terminal with a
jum~r WIfe.
Remove the alternalOr cap and check the ignition
timing with a timing ligtll.
Tlmmg is correct if Ihe index mark aligns with the
"F" mark (Within 3"') at 2.000 rpm
IGNITION TIMING: 15" ± 3" BTDC/2.000 Ipm

MAINTENANCE
COMPRESSION TEST
Warm up the engine.
SlOP the IIng;ne and remove the spark plug.
Insen a compression gauge.
Open the thronle grip fully and operate the kick
starter
several limeS.
COMPRESSION: 11.0 -15.0 kg/cm
2
(156- 213 psi I
Low compressiol' can be caused by:
Blown cylinder head gasket
. Worn piston
rings
• Wom cylinder
High compression can be caused by;
Carbon deposiu in the combustion camber or on
the piston head.
