the
NEXT[]
keyand
select
the
[Continuous]
mode
.
Press
RUN
and
the
analyzer
wilI
perform
series
of
trace
measurements
.
At
the
completion
of
each
measurement,
the
analyzer
updates
the
display
and
starts
anew
trace
measurement
.
The
traces
measurements
continue
until
the
STOP
key
is
pressed
.
The
time
tagging
list
is
not
displayed
during
continuous
traces,
but
is
displayed
when
STOP
is
pressed
and
a
single
trace
is
taken
.
NOTE
When
STOP
is
pressed
once,
the
analyzer
completes
and
displays
the
measurement
presently
in
progress
.
If
STOP
is
pressed
twice,
the
trace
measurement
is
aborted
andany
states
captured
are
displayed
in
the
listing
.

return
to
the
[Single]
trace
mode
by
using
the
PREV[]
key

NOTE
Steps

apply
only
to
the
1630G,
the
1630A/D
does
not
have
the
time
tagging
function

the
Count
field
in
the
State
Trace
Specification
menu
.
There
are
two
choices
available
in
the
Count
field
for
time
tagging
purposes
.
The
default
of
the
count
function
counts
the
time
betweeneach
state
in
the
state
listing
.
This
is
displayed
in
the
Time
column
of
the
state
listing
and
may
be seen
in
any
of
the
previous
figures
of
state
listings of
the
1630G
.
The
1630G
can
count
states
rather
thantime
when
the
Count
field
specification
is
changed
to
[all
states]
.
Figure4-18
is
a
state
listing
when
states
are
counted
rather
than
execution
time
.
States
between
and
including
each
state
in
the
state
listing
are
counted
.
The
time
tagging
function
has
many
useful
applications
such
as
:
measuring
time
between
calls
to
a
routine,
looking
at
the
time
between
writing to
an
I/O
port,
or
capturing
the
time
a
routine
takes
to
execute
.
