7. Support the upper steering column weldment with a
suitable lifting device.
8. Remove two screws (12), lock washers (13), lock
nuts (15), and shoulder bolts (16).
9. Remove four screws (6), lock washers (7), and nuts
(8).
10. Remove steering wheel input device (9).
Installation Notes
• Install steering wheel input device by reversing the
order of removal.
• Tighten lock nut (15) to remove free play but allow
upper steering column weldment (14) to be rotated
about shoulder bolt (16).
• Apply dielectric grease (Jacobsen PN 365422) to any
connectors removed.

WARNING
CAUTION
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)
2. Swing out and lock the center cutting unit from under
the machine.

3. Tag and disconnect the resistor bank jumper
connector (5).
4. Support the genset carrier (7) using a suitable lifting
device.
Be sure that the key switch is off, all electrical
accessories are turned off, and the 12-volt and
48-volt power connectors are disconnected
before starting work on machine.
Resistor bank assembly components will become
hot during operation. Allow resistor bank
assembly components to cool before performing
service.
