Mechanical Troubleshooting
Condition Probable Cause Remedy
Reel drive does not engage. Reel enable switch and mow switch not
engaged.
Engage reel enable switch and mow
switch. (Refer to Operator’s Manual.)
Machine set to FOC mode and machine
not moving.
Engage traction pedal and move machine.
Reel drive motor harness connectors not
connected.
Connect reel drive motor harness
connectors. (See “Reel Drive Motor” on
page 6-23.)
Reel drive motor harness not connected at
controller.
Connect reel drive motor harness at
controller. (See “RCU” on page 4-143.)
Seat switch faulty. Test seat switch. (See “Seat Switch Test”
on page 4-131.)
Reel enable switch faulty. Test reel enable switch. (See “Rocker
Switches Test” on page 4-130.)
Mow switch faulty. Test mow switch. (See “Mow Switch Test”
on page 4-129.)
Reel motor coupler or key missing. Check for missing coupler or key and
replace as necessary. (See “Reel Drive
Motor” on page 6-23.)
Reel drive motor faulty. Repair or replace reel drive motor. (See
“Reel Drive Motor” on page 6-23.)
Reel drive does not reach full speed. Reel drive motor faulty. Repair or replace reel drive motor. (See
“Reel Drive Motor” on page 6-23.)
Bedknife-to-reel contact too tight. Check bedknife-to-reel clearance
adjustment. (See “Bedknife-to-Reel
Clearance Adjustment” on page 6-16.)
Cutting unit roller does not rotate. Roller is out of round and restricted by
scraper and/or scraper is bent.
Replace roller or scraper. (See “Front
Roller” on page 6-31 or “Rear Roller”
on page 6-32.)
Roller bearing is faulty Replace roller bearing. (See “Roller
Bearings” on page 6-32.)
