6.9 Adjusting the forks
WARNING!
Trapping hazard
There is a trapping hazard when you
perform this operation.

Wear work gloves and safety shoes.
WARNING!
Unsecured and incorrectly adjusted
fork tines can cause accidents
X
Adjust the two fork tines so that they are
equidistant from the outside edge of the
fork carriage.
X
Engage the locking pin in a groove to
prevent the fork tines from moving
accidentally.
XThe load centre of gravity must be
located centrally between the fork tines.
Adjusting the forks
Requirements
– Park the truck securely, see "Parking the truck
securely" on page 103.
Procedure
• Lift up the locking lever (184).
• Push the forks (185) into the correct position
on the fork carriage (186).
Z To lift the load securely, the forks (185) must
be spread as far apart as possible and
positioned centrally with respect to the fork
carriage. The load centre of gravity must be centrally aligned between the forks
(185).
• Lift the locking lever down (184) and move the forks until the locking pin engages
in a slot.
The forks are now adjusted.
