Reassembly

Install Governor Cross Shaft
1. Place the thin thrust washer onto the governor
cross shaft as far as it will go.
2. Lightly lubricate the shaft with oil, and install it
from inside the crankcase. See Figure 10-3.

3. Slide the thick thrust washer onto the shaft from
the outside as far as it will go. Secure by inserting
the hitch pin in the machined groove. See Figure
10-4.

Install Oil Pump Assembly and Intake Cam
Shaft
1. If the oil pump assembly was removed from the
intake cam shaft, reassemble it onto the shaft.
The drive pin holes are machined to be a
clearance (slip) fit on one side and a press fit on
the other. Support the cam shaft with the
clearance holes up and install the shorter, 2.5 mm
(0.098 in.) diameter pin in the outer hole, closest
to the bottom end. See Figure 10-5 and 10-6.
Center the pin in the shaft.
