12.41 Checking the swingarm

– Check the swingarm for damage, cracking, and deformation.
» If the swingarm shows signs of damage, cracking, or deformation:
– Change the swingarm.
Info
Always change a damaged swingarm. Repair of the swingarm is not
authorized by KTM.
12.42 Checking throttle cable routing
Preparatory work
– Remove the seat. ( p. 63)
– Remove the fuel tank. ( p. 68)

Main work
– Check throttle cable routing.
Both throttle cables must be routed, side by side, on the back of the handlebars
and above the fuel tank bracket, to the throttle valve body. Both throttle cables
must be secured behind the fuel tank contact area rubber band.
» If the throttle cable routing is not as specified:
– Correct throttle cable routing.
Finishing work
– Install the fuel tank. ( p. 69)
– Mount the seat. ( p. 64)
12.43 Checking the rubber grip

– Check the rubber grips on the handlebar for damage, wear, and looseness.
Info
The rubber grips are vulcanized onto a sleeve on the left and onto the han-
dle tube of the throttle grip on the right. The left sleeve is clamped onto the
handlebar.
The rubber grip can only be replaced with the sleeve or the throttle tube.
» If a rubber grip is damaged, worn, or loose:
– Change the rubber grip.
