Near Field Communication (NFC) Technology
NFC (Near Field Communication) technology is a short-range, wireless technology that lets you
quickly and wirelessly exchange information between your phone and other NFC-enabled
devices. You can use this function to purchase goods or take a train in a contactless manner by
installing your preferred payment/transit apps in your phone and bringing your phone close to
the target NFC terminal.
Turn NFC on or off
Use the settings menu to enable or disable your phone’s NFC capabilities.
1. From the Connected devices screen, tap Connection preferences > NFC.
2. Tap the on/off icon next to Use NFC to turn it on or off.
3. The following options are available:
Require device unlock for NFC
to allow NFC payment and transit only when the
phone is unlocked.
Security reminders about NFC
to display reminders for using the NFC feature.
Contactless payments
to set the default payment app.
Mobile Hotspot & Tethering
Mobile Hotspot allows you to turn your phone into a Wi-Fi hotspot, while Tethering functionality
lets you share your phone's Internet connection with other devices. These features work best
when used in conjunction with 4G LTE or 5G data services.
From the Apps launcher, tap Settings > Network & internet > Mobile Hotspot &
tethering to open the Mobile Hotspot & tethering screen.
