Settingmanagementfeatures
Toenablethenetworkadministratortocontrolyourcomputerremotely,youmustcongurethenetwork
interfacebysettingthesystem-managementfeaturesinBIOSSetupUtility.Thatutilitycontainsthefollowing
functions:
•WakeonLAN
•Startupsequence
Ifanadministrator'spassword(supervisorpassword)hasbeenset,youwillneedtospecifyitwhenyoustart
BIOSSetupUtility,sothatyoucanusethesefunctions.
WakeonLAN
WhentheWakeonLANfeatureisenabledonacomputerthatisconnectedtoaLAN,anetworkadministrator
canstartthecomputerremotelyfromamanagementconsole,usingremotenetwork-managementsoftware.
SettingupinBIOSSetupUtility
ToenableordisableWakeonLAN,gototheBIOSSetupUtilitymenu.Whenyourcomputerisnotunderthe
networkadministrator'ssystemmanagement,youcandisableWakeonLAN.
Tosetthisfunction,dothefollowing:
1.StarttheBIOSSetupUtilitymenu.
2.SelectCong.
3.TheCongsubmenuappears.
4.SelectNetwork.
5.TheNetworkitemsubmenuappears.
6.ForWakeOnLAN,selecteitherEnabledorDisabled.
7.PressF10.
Networkbootsequence
Whenyourcomputeristurnedonremotely,systemwilltrytobootfromthedevicethatisselectedby
Networkbootsetting,thenitwillfollowthebootorderlistintheBootmenu.
Todeneasequence:
1.OntheBIOSSetupUtilitymenu,selectStartup.TheStartupsubmenuappears.
2.SelectNetworkandpressEntertodisplaythebootdevicelist.
3.TosetthestartupsequencethattheBIOSwilluse,pressF5orF6tomovethedeviceupordown.
4.PressF10.
Note:Ifyouwanttoinitializethesettingtoreturntothedefaultstartupsequence,pressF9.Thedefault
settingsareautomaticallyreloaded.
