ACpoweradapterproblems
•Problem:Theacpoweradapterisconnectedtothecomputerandtheworkingelectricaloutlet,butthe
poweradapter(powerplug)iconisnotdisplayedinthetaskbar.Alsotheacpowerindicatordoes
notlightup.
Solution:Doasfollows:
1.Makesurethattheconnectionoftheacpoweradapteriscorrect.Forconnectingtheacpower
adapter,seetheSetupInstructionsmanualincludedintheshippingcontentsofyourcomputer.
2.Iftheabovestepiscorrect,turnoffthecomputer,thendisconnecttheacpoweradapteranduninstall
themainbattery.
3.Reinstallthebatteryandreconnecttheacpoweradapter,thenturnonthecomputer.
4.Ifthepoweradaptericonstilldoesnotappearonthetaskbarandtheacpowerindicatordoesnot
lightup,havetheacpoweradapterandyourcomputerserviced.

Ifyourcomputerisgettingnopoweratall,checkthefollowingitems:
1.Verifythepowerswitch.Referto“System-statusindicators”onpage9.Thepowerswitchbuttonis
illuminatedwheneverthecomputerison.Itisnotilluminatedinsleep(standby)orhibernationmode.
2.Checkallpowerconnections.Removeanypowerstripsandsurgeprotectorstoconnecttheacpower
adapterdirectlytotheacpoweroutlet.
3.Inspecttheacpoweradapter.Checkforanyphysicaldamage,andmakesurethatthepowercableis
rmlyattachedtotheadapterbrickandthecomputer.
4.Verifytheacpowersourceisworkingbyattachinganotherdevicetotheoutlet.
5.RemovethecomputerfromaThinkPadPortReplicatorSeries3,ThinkPadMiniDockSeries3or
ThinkPadMiniDockPlusSeries3.
6.Removealldevicesandthentestforsystempowerwithminimaldevicesattached.
