Recommended engine oil viscosity

Use engine oil with the proper thickness for the outdoor tem-
peratures where you will be driving.
Except for vehicles with turbocharger
SAE 5W-20 engine oil is strongly recommended for optimum
fuel economy and cold starting.
SAE 10W-30 may be used when the normal operating tempera-
ture is above 100 °F (38 °C).
Vehicles with turbocharger
OTE
● Select engine oil of the proper SAE viscosity number
according to the atmospheric temperature. SAE 5W-30,
0W-30 and 0W-40 engine oil can only be used if it meets
API SM (or higher) specifications.
● SAE 0W-30 and 0W-40 engine oil are recommended to
use to improve engine startability on a very cold weather
condition.
● SAE 10W-30 may be used when the normal operating
temperature is above 100 °F (38 °C).
● Use engine oil conforming to the following classification:
• API classification: “For service SM” or higher
• ILSAC certificated oil
