How the Supplemental Restraint System works

The SRS includes the following components:
The airbag control unit monitors the readiness of the electronic
parts of the system whenever the ignition switch is in the “ON”
or “START” position. These include all of the items listed
above and all related wiring.
The airbags will operate only when the ignition switch is in the
“ON” or “START” position.
1- Drivers airbag
2- SRS warning light
3- Passengers airbag off indicator
4- Passengers front airbag
5- Front impact sensors
6- Drivers knee airbag
7- Drivers seat position sensor
8- Passengers seat weight sensors
9- Airbag control unit
10- Side airbag modules (if so equipped)
11- Curtain airbag modules (if so equipped)
12- Side impact sensors (if so equipped)
