Storingthemachine
Geographic,environmentalandactualstorageconditionsmakeitdifculttofollowasetstorageprocedureforall
areasandconditions.Thefollowingprocedureisforastorageperiodofsixmonthsorlonger.Thisprocedureisa
goodstartingpointbutmaynotbeallinclusive.Ifyouhavequestionsaboutstoringyourmachine,contactyourdealer.
1.Priortostoring,inspectthemachineforvisiblesignsof
wear,breakage,ordamage.Orderanypartsrequired
andmakethenecessaryrepairstoavoiddelayswhen
startingthenextoperatingperiod.
2.Priortostoring,washthemachine.
3.Lubricatetheentiremachine.
4.Paintanyareaswherethepainthasbeendamaged.
5.Moveallhydrauliccontrolsthroughtheircomplete
rangesseveraltimestorelieveanypressureinthe
circuits.
6.Drainthefueltank.
7.Putapproximately8l(2.1USgal)ofdieselushingoil
inthefueltank.Runtheengineuntiltheexhaustsmoke
isblue-white.
8.Draintheushingoilfromtank.
9.Fillthefueltankandadddieselfuelconditionerbyfol-
lowingthedirectionsonthecontainer.
10.Changetheengineoilandreplacethelter.
11.Drainthecoolingsystem.Leavethedrainsopenand
donottightentheradiatorcap.
12.PutaDONOTOPERATEorOUTOFSERVICEtag
ormarkerinthecab.
13.Replacetheairlterelementsifthehoursofoperation
ortimeintervalwilllapseduringstorage.
14.Covertheexposedcylinderrods,andvalvespools
andanyotherbaremetalpartswitharustandcor-
rosionpreventive.
15.Removeandcleanthebattery.Fullychargethebat-
tery.Storethebatteryinacooldryplacewhereitwill
notfreeze.
16.Coverexhaustoutlet.
17.Parkthemachineinsideabuilding.Ifabuildingisnot
available,parkthemachineinadryareaonplanks
andcoverwithawaterproofcover.
