19. Using a brass drift, remove the water pump drive
shaft. Be sure not to damage the threads. Inspect
shaft for wear or damage, replace if necessary.
20. Extract the mechanical seal
t
and the oil seal
y
from the stator cover.
21. Press out the water pump drive shaft bearing
u
from
the stator cover. Discard bearing and replace with
new.

22. Thoroughly clean the stator cover.
23. Press in a new water pump drive shaft bearing until it
is fully seated in the cover.
CAUTION
Be sure bearing is fully seated in cover or severe
engine damage may result.
24. Clean and de-grease the water pump drive shaft

25. Press in the water pump drive shaft into the bearing
using PU-50869 Item #1.
