User Interface and Remote Agent Issues
Table 7-2 lists problems related to the SANsurfer FC HBA Manager user interface
and remote agent, and provides possible causes and solutions.
Installation does not copy
files.
Cause: There is insufficient disk space or not enough available mem-
ory.
Solution: The installation detects when there is insufficient disk space.
When sufficient disk space is available, continue the installation. For
disk space and physical RAM requirements, see “Hardware Require-
ments” on page 3-1 or the readme.txt file.
Installation reports that there
is no space available.
Cause: There is insufficient disk space or not enough available mem-
ory.
Solution: The installation detects when there is insufficient disk space.
When sufficient disk space is available, continue the installation. For
disk space and physical RAM requirements, see “Hardware Require-
ments” on page 3-1 or the readme.txt file.

Problem Cause and Solution
Microsoft portmapper conflict
occurs.
Cause: There is a Microsoft portmapper conflict occurs when Microsoft
Windows Services for UNIX is installed after SANsurfer FC HBA Man-
ager.
Solution: Perform the following steps:
1. Temporarily uninstall SANsurfer FC HBA Manager.
2. Install Microsoft Windows Services for UNIX.
3. Re-install SANsurfer FC HBA Manager.
When performing a driver
update on unsigned Windows
drivers, the OS displays a
confirm dialog box.
Cause: This appears in front of the application (focus) when performing
the update on the localhost if the GUI is connected to the "localhost"
(non-agent). When updating a driver on the localhost, if the GUI uses
the hostname or IP to connect, the confirm dialog box appears behind
the GUI (no focus).
Solution: If you are performing a driver update on the localhost, make
sure to connect as "localhost".
