YoucanconnectyourDSCVHFradiotoyourmultifunction
displayandshowdistressmessageinformationandGPS
positiondataforothervessels.
ConnectingaDSCVHFradiotoyourmultifunctiondisplay
providesthefollowingadditionalfunctionality:
•DistressMessages—whenyourDSCVHFradioreceivesa
DSCmessageoralarmfromanotherDSCVHFradio-equipped
vessel,thevesselidentication(MMSI),GPSposition,and
timeofdistressmessageisdisplayedonyourmultifunction
display.Withthedistressmessagedisplayedyoucanuse
thebuttonsprovidedto:clearthemessage,placeawaypoint
onthechartattheGPSpositionofthedistressedvessel,or
immediatelystartnavigating(GOTO)totheGPSpositionof
thedistressedvessel.
•PositionData—the“PositionRequest”buttononyourDSC
VHFradioenablesyoutosendandreceiveGPSpositiondata
toandfromothervesselsequippedwithaDSCVHFradio.
