Using the Battery to Power Your Camcorder (continued)
Battery Level Indicator
The battery level indicator will appear in
the camcorder’s viewfinder when the
battery needs to be recharged.

When this indicator appears, slide
the
POWER switch to turn off the
camcorder
before replacing the battery. After
replacing the battery, slide the
POWER
switch again to place the camcorder
in
the record-pause mode.
The battery level indicator will not
be
recorded on the tape when it appears
in
the viewfinder.

Battery Information
l Recharging takes approximately ‘70
minutes for the battery depending on its
condition.
l Refreshing takes approximately 210
minutes depending on the battery’s
condition.
l After repeated charging and use,
operation time will gradually decrease.
When operation time becomes too short
to be useful, it is time to replace the
battery.
l If the CHG indicator starts flashing, the
battery pack has become too hot.
Remove the battery and let it cool
down.
l If the battery discharging must be
stopped in the middle, remove the
battery from the adapter/charger before
unplugging it from the AC outlet.
l Let a hot battery cool down before
attaching it to the AC adapter/charger.
Battery Care and Storage
l The nickel cadmium battery will
provide better service and increased
operation time if you “refresh” it
before
each charging.
l The battery will also provide better
service if its power is completely
drained before storing it for long
periods of time (30 days or more).
l The battery should be charged in
the
temperature range of 50-95°F
(lo-35C)
to prevent damage.
l Do not operate the battery at
temperatures below 32°F (OC) or
above
104°F (40C). The battery may be
damaged if operated at temperatures
above 122°F (50C). Operation time
will decrease at extremely low
temperatures.
l Store the battery at normal room
temperature.
